about the method

What is Elos hair removal

Elos is a device-based hair removal method that combines a light pulse (IPL) with radiofrequency current (RF).

01

How it works

Elos combines light and radiofrequency energy (electro-optical synergy). First, the hair pigment absorbs a light pulse (IPL), which heats the follicle. Then radiofrequency current (RF) flows between the handpiece electrodes and heats the follicle further. Warm tissue conducts the current better, so the effect is precise and deep. Thanks to RF, the device needs less light: the procedure is gentler on the skin and works even on light hair with little pigment.

02

Key features

  • all hair types: works on dark, light and red hair, unlike other lasers
  • suitable for different skin phototypes
  • the procedure is comfortable: you feel mild warmth and tingling
03

Course

On average, a course takes 6–10 procedures, sometimes more, depending on the areas and hair type, because hair goes away in stages. After that, one or two procedures a year are enough to keep the result and treat “dormant” follicles that wake up later.

Elos: questions and answers

The questions clients ask before their first session. If yours isn't here, please write to us and we'll answer you ourselves.

Is Elos a laser or IPL?

Both at once. Elos combines light energy with bipolar radiofrequency current: light heats the hair, and the current boosts the effect inside the follicle. That is why it works where a standard laser falls short.

Does it work on light, red or grey hair?

Yes, on light, red and vellus hair, thanks to the radiofrequency component, which does not depend on pigment. Grey hair that has lost all its melanin gives an unpredictable result, so we assess it at the consultation.

Is it safe for dark or tanned skin?

Elos is safe for every skin phototype. After intense sun exposure, we wait before treating: at your appointment, the specialist checks your skin and adjusts the settings.

Do you do hair removal for men?

Yes, any area, such as the back, chest, shoulders or neck. The number of sessions depends on the area and hair type, and we will tell you at the consultation.

How many sessions will I need?

On average, 6–10 sessions, 4–6 weeks apart. Hair grows in cycles, and one session switches off just the active follicles. The exact number depends on the area, hormones and hair type.

Does it hurt?

It feels like warm snaps. The device uses cooling, and you won't need anaesthesia. Most clients describe the procedure as easy and quick.

How do I prepare?

For 2–4 weeks before the session, please don't pull hairs out (no waxing, tweezers or epilator): the root needs to stay in place. Shave the area the day before. Avoid strong sun and self-tanner for 2 weeks before.

What should I avoid afterwards?

For 1–2 days, skip the sauna, steam room and pool, don't scrub the area, and use SPF. Mild redness fades within a few hours.

Who should not have this procedure?

Contraindications include pregnancy and breastfeeding, cancer, epilepsy, acute infections, damaged or inflamed skin in the treatment area, and some skin conditions. We go through the full list with you at the consultation.

Will the hair be gone forever?

The procedure destroys treated follicles, and they do not come back. Over time, hormonal changes can wake up new ones. If that happens, one maintenance session every 6–12 months is enough.

What does it cost and where do you work?

The price depends on the area and the course, and we'll quote it in chat. We work in Tbilisi and Batumi: please message us on WhatsApp or Telegram.
