about the procedure

What device-based acne care is and who it suits

Acne starts with inflammation and excess sebum. At TO BE, two devices work on it. IMPULSE 100 uses high-frequency pulses to break down the bacterial membrane and regulate the sebaceous glands. SFT spectral phototherapy calms inflammation and speeds up healing. Together they reduce breakouts and smooth out post-acne marks.

The course suits teenagers and adults, men and women, with active breakouts or with marks and uneven texture after acne. We accept teenagers from age 11–12: under 14 the course uses IMPULSE 100 only, and we add spectral phototherapy from age 14.

If a dermatologist already treats you, you can combine our procedures with the prescribed treatment.

Questions and answers

If your question isn't here, please write to us and we'll answer you ourselves.

Can acne go away without pills?

Our course uses no antibiotics and no hormones: the IMPULSE 100 and SFT devices do the work. If a dermatologist has already prescribed treatment, you can combine it with our procedures, and only your dermatologist changes the dose of medication.

How does device-based care differ from isotretinoin (Accutane)?

Isotretinoin is a systemic drug. A dermatologist prescribes it, and the course lasts months with regular blood tests. Our procedures use devices and no medication: high-frequency pulses and phototherapy calm inflammation and regulate the sebaceous glands.

Can I have the procedures while taking medication?

Yes, you can combine the procedures with prescribed treatment, isotretinoin included. Only your dermatologist decides whether to change the dose.

How many procedures does acne need?

6–7 procedures once a month on average. We give an exact number after the examination, because it depends on the stage. In most cases you see the first changes after 1–2 procedures.

From what age can I take the course?

From age 11–12. Under 14 the course uses IMPULSE 100 only, and we add spectral phototherapy from age 14.

How can I reduce post-acne marks?

IMPULSE 100 and SFT smooth out post-acne marks and uneven texture, and the result builds up with each procedure. If dark spots remain after acne, our pigmentation course can help too. We will advise at the consultation.

Are there restrictions during the course?

No, the course comes with no restrictions. To keep the result between procedures, the specialist selects home care for you.

Who should not have these procedures?

The IMPULSE 100 instructions list these contraindications: pregnancy and breastfeeding, a pacemaker or other electronic implants, metal implants in the treatment area, cancer, epilepsy, acute infections and fever, damaged skin or unhealed wounds in the area, keloid scars or a tendency to form them, and serious blood clotting disorders. Before the course, a specialist checks your case at a free consultation.

How much does the course cost, and where do you work?

The cost depends on the stage and the number of procedures. We will name it after a free consultation. We work in Tbilisi and Batumi.
